The ringleader. She was the one who talked her mates into entering the competition. Born in the quiet country town of Nowra, which she made a little less quiet by routinely raiding the town’s St. Vinnies bins when she was a teen. Graduated from petty crime to grand larceny by taking a Marketing degree at RMIT and signing on with an integrated direct marketing agency. Past travels include a trip to NZ where she paddled around the Tasman in a kayak and went trekking with a backpack that weighed twice as much as she did. Lived in Pt. Douglas for a short while and has been to Adelaide once before. Her dad was a Navy chopper pilot and is now a Lt. Commander. Passions include work, fashion, music and dancing. Only fears are failure and sleazy guys. Classifies her musical taste as electronica, with the likes of T-Rek (Tarek Smallman) and Infusion topping her playlist.

Tall, dark and hirsute, Sydney-born ‘Coops’ studied Communications and Journalism in Canberra before coming to Melbourne to pick up his PhD. As well as his wife Shannon. She was interested in philosophy as well as art, he was interested in art as well as philosophy. Both are Aries, so neither of them had a chance to get away, really. After a whirlwind romance, Coops and Shannon set up house in bucolic Collingwood with their two pets a garden gnome who has chosen an alternative lifestyle and housemate Brad. Coops loves his cricket and soccer and has no real fears to mention. If you ever feel like a chat about Nietzsche, Kierkegaard or Aphex Twin, Dr. Coops is your man.

Age: 26
Birthday: 10/4/1981
Star sign: Aries
Year of the: Rooster
Tattoos: Celtic Universe on shoulder.

Raven-haired Shannon moved from Canberra to Melbourne at the age of 19, where she studied fine arts at Vic Uni. She’s since applied her artistic skills to the heady world of Fitzroy fashion design. She’s a seasoned traveller, having covered most of Australia as well as a few side trips to Canada and Hawaii. The strangest cuisine she has encountered on her travels is the Bogong Moth (she claims it tastes like peanut butter) and the silliest thing she’s ever done on a trip was take an unsuspecting friend who had never been on skis before down the double secret Black Diamond run on BC’s Whistler Mountain. In a storm. Favourite bands are The Bel Rays, TV On The Radio, Rocket Science, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Magic Dirt. She’s a fantastic hip hopper (when encouraged). Loves include art, music, culture, fashion and husband Dr. Coops. Fears include spiders and sea monsters. She once harpooned a spider with a stiletto heel (call her Ishmael) and is convinced Colossal Squids are evolving lungs so they can take over the earth.

Paul
(3rd with 23.7% of votes)

Age: 18
Birthday: 19/1/1989
Star sign: Capricorn
Year of the: Snake
Tattoos: MACKEY inscribed on his ribcage.

Paul is Shannon’s little brother. When he was a kid he used to pull his pants up to his armpits and he still bears emotional scars from the time sister Shannon pulled his pants down in an attempt to bring them (and him) back to earth. He came down to Melbourne from Canberra for a weekend and never left. Loves soccer (he played for Canberra at the National level and travelled to England and Japan on soccer trips) and music (R&B and Hip Hop). Hates spiders and heights. Hobbies include dancing and playing guitar, sometimes at the same time. Dreams of sitting on the beach in Brazil and Miami as well as behind the wheel of an obscenely expensive Ferrari or Lamborghini. The quiet type – until you go near his trousers.
